Bengaluru: Expressing his ire over the appointment of three Deputy Chief Ministers in the state, Congress leader and MLC Ivan D’souza said that the state government is “against the verdict of the people”.
It can be recalled that on August 26, three of the newly inducted Cabinet ministers, Govind M Karajol, C N Ashwath Narayan and Laxman Sangappa Savadi, were appointed as the state’s new DCMs. It can also be noted that Laxman Savadi is not an elected MLA or MLC.
“This is the first time in the state’s history that three DCMs have been appointed. I’m sure that this decision was taken by the RSS and not B S Yediyurappa. The directions for the allocation of portfolios has come from Nagpur. This government is against the verdict of the people,” he told ANI here.
Expressing his disappointment over BJP leader and former chief minister Jagadish Shettar’s appointment as a mere Cabinet minister, he said, “If former CM Jagadish Shettar has any self-respect, he should resign and leave the government. How can he work under his juniors?”
