Terror threat: Udupi put on high alert

Udupi: The coastal district of Udupi has been put on high alert after intelligence inputs that members of suspected terror groups have snuck into the country were received.

According to Coastal Security Police PSI Pramod, a look-out notice has been issued against the suspects.

The intelligence pointed to the suspicious movements of a Pakistani national and five Sri Lankan Muslim, who are believed to be attached to the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Photographs of the suspects were also received along with the report.

PSI Pramod informed that the Coastal Security Police showed these photographs to the local fishermen.

He also added that, as per the instructions, they have stuck these photos on the walls at the Malpe, Padukere and Kemmannu Hoode beaches.
