Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has asked the Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar to submit a report within a week on the progress made by the Special Investigation Team constituted to trace missing software engineer Ajitabh.
Ajitabh is missing since he left home on December 18, 2017 after receiving a call from a prospective buyer for his car, which he had offered for sale in an online advertisement.
Justice A.S. Bopanna issued the direction when the government counsel submitted inputs received from the SIT, which was constituted by the commissioner on a direction from the court.
The court was hearing a petition filed by Ashok Kumar Sinha, father of Ajitabh, seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
When the government counsel sought two weeks time to submit the report, the court told the commissioner to submit a weekly report. If the commissioner feels that disclosing details of the investigation may derail the probe, the report could be submitted in a sealed cover, the court said.
