Bengaluru: A techie, mother of a one-year-old child, committed suicide by hanging in the J P Nagar Third Phase area of the city. Her parents lodged a dowry harassment complaint against her husband.

According to the J P Nagar police, who are investigating the case, Supriya (31), a software engineer working for an MNC, committed suicide in her apartment.

A resident of Hubballi, she married Akshay (32), a resident of Haveri five years ago. The couple has a one-year-old child together.

Supriya’s parents have alleged her death is dowry-related and in their complaint to the police, accused their son-in-law of harassing their daughter for more dowry.
