Bengaluru: In order to crack down on the underperforming aided schools, the Department of Education has decided to take action. One of the measures mentioned in a circular released by the department is a cut in the salaries of the teaching staff.

There are about 9000 aided schools in Karnataka and the department will be analysing the data of the last five years. If any schools are found to be consistently underperforming, the salaries of these institutions will be cut. Schools that do not meet the standards could face de-recognition. Those institutions found performing below the district average and getting zero pass results will attract penalties.
