Bengaluru: H Y Meti, Excise Minister who was caught in a sex tape controversy tendered his resignation to the Chief Minister, on Wednesday soon after the tape was released to the media.

The CD reportedly has clippings of Meti in a compromising position with a woman, who allegedly approached him seeking favour. The CD was brought to light an RTI activist Rajashekar, who has now sought police protection fearing threat to his life.

Earlier, a video recording of a woman stating that Meti had sexually abused her had gone viral. Soon, the lady made a public appearance in Bagalkot and stated that the lady in the video was not her and the very next day she re-appeared and clarified that she had refuted because of life threat.

Meanwhile, Meti who denied the allegations all the while has not responded after the clippings were out.
