
Bengaluru: After a day-long hearing, the three-judge divisional bench of the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the petitions filed by the 17 disqualified MLAs to Thursday, September 26. The court is expected to pronounce its judgment tomorrow.
Today, the advocate representing the disqualified MLAs and the advocate for former Karnataka speaker K R Ramesh Kumar placed their arguments before the three-judge bench headed by Justice Ramana.
Tushar Mehta, the advocate for Ramesh Kumar, justified his client’s decision to disqualify the 17 MLAs, barring them from contesting in any elections till 2023.
Advocate for the KPCC, Devadatta Kamat informed the court that he will file the Congress’ argument in writing on Thursday. After this, the court adjourned the hearing to the aforementioned date.
