Bengaluru: Jayanagar MLA and daughter of former minister and BTM MLA Ramalinga Reddy, Sowmya Reddy has been appointed as the new general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) women’s wing. An order in this regard was issued by AICC president Rahul Gandhi on Friday, January 4.

Sowmya, who has been sulking as her father was not given a berth in the Karnataka state Cabinet, had previously rejected an appointment as the Parliamentary secretary and expressed her displeasure openly.
