Bangalore: August 7th which falls in the shravan month, when most people refrain from eating meat, also happened to be his second son’s fifth birthday. His wife had cooked Chicken biryani, despite his several entreaties that day, not to.
Murali Kumar, 32, a small businessman and resident of Vasanthnagar reached home around 8.30 pm that day and found out that his wife had gone against his expressed wishes and had cooked chicken. To make matters worse, Renuka reportedly forced Murali to eat the chicken biryani she had prepared. She told him it was no big deal.
An argument is said to have ensued between the couple, during which Murali pulled out a kitchen knife from one of the drawers and stabbed himself in the abdomen.
He bled profusely and collapsed on the ground. Renuka alerted the landlord and the duo shifted Murali to the Bowring Hospital in an auto rickshaw, where he was admitted to the casualty ward and is battling for life.
The hospital informed the police the next day as it was a medico legal case. The Police are investigating.
