Bengaluru: A Sudanese student rammed his car into three motorcycle on Hesarghatta Main Road and killed one woman in the mishap, on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shabana Taaz, 35, a home maker from Ganapathinagar.
It is said that Mohommed Ismail, the driver did not stop after the fatal accident and hence enraged locals chased the car and assaulted him.
The angry mob later set two cars belonging two African students on fire and assaulted four boys and girls from Tanzania mistaking them to be the accused’s friends.
All the four Africans students are said to be pursuing different courses at Acharya Institute of Technology and Saptagiri Engineering College on Hesaraghatta Main Road.
It is said that at 7 pm, Ismail was returning in his car after attending a party at his friend’s house when the car collided against three bikes near Andhra Bank at Dasarahalli.
An injured has been admitted to KC?General Hospital in Malleswaram while the three Tanzanian students are being treated at a private hospital on Hesaraghatta Main Road. Ismail was subjected to medical test to ascertain if he was drunk and had consumed any banned substance, said the police.
