State to decide on sale of liquor in green zone today during cabinet meet?

Bengaluru: The state government is likely to take a decision on allowing liquor sale in green districts today, April 30.

With this, all eyes are now set on today’s cabinet meeting, which will be chaired by CM BS Yediyurappa.

According to the sources, the ban on sale of liquor is causing huge loss to the state.

Now the authorities are contemplating with the idea of allowing liquor sale in the green zones so that the state exchequer sees some flow of money as liquor sale is one of the biggest money spinner for the state government..

“A final decision in this regard is expected to be taken in the cabinet meeting,” said sources in the excise department.

H Nagesh, excise minister informed that the state can decide on permitting sale of liquor only if the center approves.
