State registers biggest one-day spike after 99 test COVID-19 positive; Tally now 1246

Bengaluru: As many as 15 more people tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, May 18 evening, taking the day’s total to 99, the largest single-day jump registered by the state. Karnataka’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases now stand at 1246.

Earlier in the day, 84 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Of the 15 new cases reported in the evening, six are from Bengaluru Urban (including a pre-teen and an infant), five are from Kalaburagi (including four infants), two are from Dakshina Kannada, and one each is from Udupi and Uttara Kannada.

The 1246 total cases include 37 deaths, one non-COVID caused death and 530 discharges.
