Bengaluru: Budging down to the demand of the PU College lecturers who resorted to boycotting evaluation duty, the state government has hiked the allowance by 30% following on April 5.
PU Board Director Ramegowda passing the order urged the lecturers to call off the strike and participate in the evaluation.
The government has warned all the agitating lecturers that it would take alternative measures if they do not participate in evaluation.
Meanwhile three accused who were arrested in connection with Chemistry question paper leak case have been sent to judicial custody till April 13.
Primary Education minister Kimmane Rathnakar defended Minister Sharan Prakash Pateel whose PA was arrested by the CID in question paper leak case. “It is wrong to blame the minister,” Kimmane said.
Home Minister G Parameshwara has warned to punish the guilty in a stringent manner. “Those colleged involved in question paper leak case will be disqualified. There will be major changes in the PU Board soon,” he said.
Medical Education minister Sharan Prakash Pateel responding to reporters said, “I am shocked at my PA’s involvement in the case. I gave him job with regard to the legislative work. He was in constant touch with PU Board members. CID is carrying out investigation in this case. Guilty must be punished.” he said.
CID sleuths on Monday, April 4, arrested Manjunath, Obhalaraj and Rudrappa accused in the question paper leak case. Obhalaraj is the special officer under Minister for Medical Education Dr Sharana Prakash R Patil. The kingpin is yet to be traced.
