Bengaluru: The State government has denied making the caste census report of the state public after various reports in the media kept coming up for the past two days.

From the looks of the report, they reportedly look like they aren’t original. The facts and figures are speculated based on previous surveys.

One of the report said that the 18% of the state population was Scheduled Caste. Muslims with 12.5%, Lingayats with 9.8%, Vokkaligas, Kurubas, Schedule Tribes and Brahmins with 8.16, 7.1, 7 and 2.1 per cent form a total of 6 crore people on the population census.

A variety of reports were out in the media for the past two days which the government has dismissed.

Minister for Social Welfare H Anjaneya has requested the public not to believe fake reports.

“We were planning to publish the data on a website, but couldn’t do so as the software wasn’t ready. The report is not leaked. All the reports in media are speculations,” he said.
