Bengaluru: The state government is all set to operationalise the new all-in-one helpline number 112. The general public will get police, health, fire and other emergency services through this helpline. It will be a toll-free number.

Presently, different toll-free numbers are existing for various services including emergency health, police etc. But under the new system, all the services will be brought under a single number.

As per the plan, the state government is also planning to have a Whatsapp number through which emergency services can be provided.

“It is a centrally funded project. A modern call center will be set up in the Bengaluru city to monitor the activities and issue the alerts,” informed authorities.
