Bengaluru: An investigation carried out by the Andhra government on the reports of two children’s death reportedly caused after eating mud in the Anantapur district, has revealed that the family had migrated from Chikkaballapura in Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh in search of jobs. This report is expected to create a big embarrassment for the Karnataka government.
According to sources, the son and niece of Mahesh and Neelaveni, the couple who migrated from the Gudibande village in Chikkaballapura, died after eating mud in the Kadiri police limits. The starved kids had eaten mud assuming that it was food. This incident come as a big embarrassment to the Union government with activists holding the Modi government responsible for increasing starvation deaths.
Now, the Andhra government has released an inquiry report, according to which, six months ago, Avinash (3), son of Mahesh and Neelaveni died after eating mud.
“Three days ago, Vennellala (4), niece of Mahesh died in a similar manner. Investigations have now revealed that the family migrated from Karnataka,” said sources.
