Bengaluru: The prison officials at Parappana Agrahara have confirmed irregularities in dealing with prisoners like AIADMK leader Shashikala Natarajan, sources said.
The officials during Public Accounts Committee Meeting of Karnataka Legislative Assembly said that the allegations made by DIG of prisons D Roopa that special treatment was given to Sasikala were indeed true.
The committee headed by Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and former home minister R Ashok has asked the officials to submit a report within 15 days.
D Roopa, after paying a visit to prisons on July had said that Sasikala, a convict in corruption case was given a special kitchen.
Sasikala has been lodged at the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru since her conviction in February in a disproportionate assets case along with her two relatives, V N Sudhakaran and Elavarasi, all serving a four-year jail term.
