Bengaluru: BTM MLA Ramalinga Reddy and his daughter Sowmya Reddy are expected to stay back in the Congress party’s fold. Both of them are expected to withdraw their resignations today after meeting Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker K Ramesh Kumar.
According to sources, on Monday, Sowmya Reddy met former AICC president Sonia Gandhi and during the discussion, Mrs Gandhi asked her to stay back in the party and assured her that all her grievances would be addressed.
“After the assurance of a ministerial post for her father, Mrs Reddy decided to stay back in the party. Even Ramalinga Reddy will continue in the party,” said sources.
Meanwhile, the Congress is continuing its efforts to reach out to the rebels staying in Mumbai. All of them have been informed that they will be inducted into the state cabinet if they stay back in the party,” said a senior Congress leader.
