Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old software engineer was killed after he fell from the 9th floor of his apartment in Bellandur on Thursday night.

The police have identified the deceased as G. Kumar, a native of Patna, and worked with a software firm in Kadubeesanahalli.

“The victim and his friends who live in a flat on the 9th floor of Shobha Daisy apartment were partying last night,” said a police officer. Around 11 p.m., Kumar received a call from his family and moved away from his friends towards a large open window in the room to attend the call.

The police suspect that he lost his balance and fell from the window. Security personnel, who saw the body, alerted the police. However, his friends had not noticed his absence. It was only 15 minutes later that they realised he was missing and tried to call him on his mobile phone.

When they could not reach him, they went downstairs and saw a group of people gathered around his body. The Bellandur police are questioning his friends and going through his call record details to piece together what happened.
