Bengaluru: Amid Covid-19 scare, actor Nikhil Kumaraswamy entered wedlock with Revati at Kethaganahalli farmhouse in Bidadi in Ramnagar district.
Ramanagar is a COVID-19 green zone district and there are not many restrictions. But what raised the eyebrows was that none of the attendees of the wedding wore a mask.
Even the newly married couple refrained from wearing masks, which is recommended as the primary protection against the spread of Covid 19.
Even though it was stated that only 20 persons from each family will be allowed to participate in the marriage a total of 42 vehicles ferried guests including former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and his wife Chennamma.
The social distancing norms were not followed strictly and all relatives were found standing very close to each other. Political leaders from the state were not in attendance at the wedding venue.
Strict police security was arranged around the farmhouse to ensure that no unknown person makes it into the marriage venue.
Nikhil, an actor-turned-politician, who is also son of former CM HD Kumaraswamy and grandson of former PM HD Devegowda contested the national election last year from his family’s stronghold Mandya but lost.

The families had earlier organized grand functions in Ramanagara, the assembly constituency of Kumaraswamy, but then changed the plans due to outbreak of coronavirus.
Earlier, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan had said that action will be taken against the former chief minister “without a second thought” if guidelines are not followed during the wedding.
