Bengaluru: A sloth bear cub was found ensnared with barbed wire around its left fore limb. The cub was trapped in the fencing outside a coconut plantation in Vittalpura village in Tumakuru. The 10-month-old male cub was rescued by the members of a non profit organisation called Wildlife SOS that works out of the Bannerghatta Bear Rescue Centre.

Along with forest department officials, the cub was freed and released into its natural habitat after receiving proper medical treatment.

Another sloth bear cub was found entangled in a snare on the outskirts of a forest in Gangadharana Gudde just a few days prior.
