Bengaluru: Six persons who stand accused in connection with the Bengaluru drug racket in Karnataka, including Sandalwood actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjana Galrani, were, on Monday, remanded to judicial custody by the 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

High-profile party planner Viren Khanna and Ravi Shankar, however, have been sent to four days in police custody.

According to Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil, the accused will remain in judicial custody till September 16, the same day as the bail hearing.

The accused will be moved to the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru city.

Ragini Dwivedi, Sanjjana Galrani, Loum Pepper, Rahul Tonse and Niyaz, were produced before the magistrate via video conference, where the CCB alleged that they were a flight risk and that they could also tamper with evidence.

During the hearing, Dwivedi’s counsel told the court that she needs special medical attention as she has a slip disk issue, in response to which the court instructed the officials to provide the necessary medical aid.

According to TNM, a CCB official said that the Sandalwood actresses will be moved to the women’s cell. They added that they are waiting for the court’s written order to transfer them to a jail.
