CM Siddaramaiah to tour drought-hit regions from today-1The CM said that though he was asked to visit Delhi on April 25 and 26, he could not make it because of the tour of drought-hit districts that he undertook.

Hence, he will be visiting Delhi during first week of May.

In a way snubbing away the discussion on Dalit CM, Siddaramaiah said that the matter has not been discussed at any party forum.

“I am also a Dalit,” said the CM.

Speaking about the Centre’s decision to release Rs 723 crore to Karnataka towards compensation for crop loss in the rabi season due to failure of rains, the chief minister said it was not adequate and that he would submit another memorandum to the Centre, seeking more funds to tide over the situation arising out of drought.

“What centre has given is only input subsidy. It has not given funds for drinking water and fodder, which we had sought,” Siddaramaiah said.
