Bengaluru: The cracks in the state coalition government have deepened further with JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda launching an all-out attack on Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah, stating he is ready for an open debate on why the JDS didn’t make him Chief Minister. He also stated that Siddaramaiah’s grudge is hurting the coalition government.

“It is a two-decade-old grudge. That is why he is creating problems,” he said.

Speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the two-day long party national executive at the Palace Grounds, he stated that Siddaramaiah still has a grudge against him for not making him the CM in the year 1996. “But I am ready for a debate to reveal the truth,” he said.

“I have helped all the people without looking at their caste or religion. Kurubas also benefited from me,” he said.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy stated that his father quit the Prime Minister’s post when he lost a majority in the parliament. “Our family has the tradition of sacrificing the PM’s post also. So I don’t mind resigning from the CM’s post at any time,” he said.

“Why should I run the government while facing criticism every day,” he questioned.

Later, speaking to reporters, PWD minister H D Revanna stated that he can speak about the future politics only after checking the Ugadi panchangam. Till then the government will be safe.
