Siddaramaiah all set to present his 10th State budget

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds Finance portfolio, will present Budget for 2015-16 today, even as Opposition parties gearing to attack the ruling Congress on various issues, besides pushing charges against the Chief Minister on denotification of land acquired for Arkavati lay out.

The 12-day Budget Session beginning today will continue till March 31. This is for the 10th time Mr Siddaramaiah will be presenting the State Budget.

He had presented the budget seven times when he was Finance Minister during Janata rule and after joining Congress and becoming Chief Minister in 2013 this for the third time he is presenting the budget.

The main opposition BJP which unsuccessfully tried to get the permission from Governor Vajubhai Vala to prosecute the Chief Minister on denotification issue, will go on all out attack against the chief minister and the government pressing for his resignation of Mr Siddaramaiah alleging that denotification was done to collect funds for Lok Sabha election.

A Judicial Commission headed by Justice Kempanna is investigating into the issue and both government as well as BJP have submitted documents running into hundreds of pages. The BJP Core Committee which met at the residence of State President Prahalad Joshi at New Delhi yesterday, has decided to attack the Siddaramaiah government on denotification, alleged law and order problem and increase in rape cases among other issues.
