SI murder case: Govt to reward police team with Rs 10 lakh

Bengaluru: The state government has announced Rs 10 lakh cash prize to the police team that cracked the SI murder case within three days of the crime taking place.
State Govt announces Rs 50 lakh compensation to kin of brave cop-1Chief Minister Siddaramaiah speaking at Vidhana Soudha said that the murderers of SI Jagadish were nabbed in Nagpur on Monday. “I congratulate the Police team involved in the operation. A reward of Rs 10 lakh will be given to the police. The cash prize will be divided into 5 lakh each among Karnataka police and Maharashtra police”, he said.

“Earlier we have compensated the family of Mallikarjun Bande who was murdered on duty. We have also compensated Jagadish’s family”, he added.

While commenting on BJP’s allegations that law and order has deteriorated in the state, CM said, only BJP leaders are saying that. “People are safe and fine. Do you have any issues with law and order, are you not safe?” he asked the media persons.

State DG and IGP Om Prakash, speaking to the media said, “Harish Babu, the prime accused in the SI Jagadish murder case is a notorious killer. There are more than 30 cases across the state. He has been arrested and soon will be brought to Bengaluru after finishing all the document works. Rural SP has gone to Nagpur. 6 cases have been registered under another accused Madhu. Further investigation will continue after they have been brought to state”, he said.

Jagadish, sub-inspector of Doddaballapur, the son of a retired police officer was stabbed to death while chasing two bike thieves on Friday.
