Bengaluru: Two alleged killers of Sub-Inspector Jagadish, who were arrested on Monday, were remanded to 14 days in police custody by a judge on Thursday.
The police produced accused Madhu and Harish Babu to a Judicial Magistrate First Class judge at his residence in Nelamanagala on Thursday since all the courts were closed.

Meanwhile, a large number of people agitated outside the judge’s residence demanding instant justice. The situation also turned tense when nearly 150 people confronted the police while escorting the duo. They demanded that the accused be handed over to the people for a public trial.

Jagadish, sub-inspector of Doddaballapur, son of a retired police officer was stabbed to death while chasing the two bike thieves on October 16.

Madhu and Harish Babu were nabbed by the Nagpur crime branch police at Nagpur railway station in Maharashtra on Monday. They were arrested while they trying to leave for Hyderabad by train and thereby evade arrest. Nagpur police, however were alerted by the Bengaluru rural police and had circulated their pictures to their counterparts in neighbouring states and it helped to arrest both the accused. They were brought to the city from Nagpur on Wednesday night and later taken to Nelamanagala where they were questioned.
