Bengaluru: The central party leadership of BJP is understood to have advised its State Unit President B S Yeddyurappa to work in association with party’s National Joint Secretary (Organizing) B L Santhosh, in an attempt to douse the flame engulfing the party.
According to reliable party sources, party’s National President, Amit Shah is understood to have communicated the decision to party’s state in-charge P Muralidhar Rao. At the same time, he has assured of holding further discussions on the matter after returning from Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, sources revealed.
Muralidhar Rao has failed to identify the specific cause of rebellion within the Karnataka Unit and Shah’s advice is the only option available for the party to handle the current crisis, revealed party sources.
It may be recalled that Yeddyurappa’s opponents within the party had asked the central leadership to replace Muralidhar Rao whom they consider pursuing bias on behalf of Yeddyurappa.
After rumours started gaining grounds in the party circles that Amit Shah, will be taking full responsibility in allotting tickets to party candidates for the next Assembly elections, most state leaders remained tight-lipped and are refusing to comment on the ongoing tussle.
After issuing statements in favour of their respective state leaders, most prefer to remain mute fearing loss of party ticket to contest in next Assembly elections.
The sudden change in the attitude of party leaders, who have turned “innocent school boys” for now clearly signals the “return of obedience in place of rebellion” in the fraction-ridden BJP state unit.
