Bengaluru: In order to solve shortage of teaching staff, over 13,000 guest teachers will be appointed for primary and secondary schools, announced Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanvir Sait here on Thursday.
Minister speaking to the media persons, said that there are over 22,000 vacancies and the government had sought permission to recruit over 3,306 teachers, to fill up the vacancies which would arise after teachers retire in the next two years.
He added further that the there will be change in the policy of recruitment and transfer of school teachers. The government will recruit the teachers at the district level and their transfers would be done within the same district. They would work and retire in the same district,where they are recruited. This would help the government to handle transfer pressures.
Responding on closure of government schools, he said that the government had decided not to close any government schools. There were over 4164 schools, which have less than 10 students, but they would not be closed.
