Bengaluru: Independent MLA Sharat Bachchegowda made it clear that he has no plans to join Congress as of now.

Speaking to reporters in the city, he stated that a few senior Congress leaders had invited him to the party fold. “But I yet to make any decision,” he said.

Sharat won from Hosakote constituency in the by-election as an independent candidate by defeating turncoat leader MTB Nagarajof BJP. In 2018 assembly election he contested on BJP ticket and lost to MTB Nagaraj.

Even though Sharat was planning to join Congress, a section of leaders are opposing his entry.
