Bengaluru: With six more parents registering complaints on Tuesday night, the police have expanded their probe into the alleged sexual assault on a toddler in a playschool.
The school has been in the news since last Friday after parents of a three-and-a-half-year-old child lodged a complaint accusing Manjunath, the school supervisor, of sexually assaulting their daughter. One of the parents, who filed a police complaint on Tuesday, said, “Recently, my child was crying and refused to go to school. After Friday’s incident, we asked other children who told us that Manju bhaiya had touched her inappropriately. He even had access to the tiolets.”
A group of parents met Police Commissioner Praveen Sood seeking a speedy probe and action against the school management for trying to cover up the case. The parents fear that Manjunath could have stored photographs of children and asked the police to search his house, which is in the school campus.
Kripa Alva, chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights said that the pre-school chain had suspended the franchise of the Bellandur branch.
The police have already arrested two members of the management and an employee. They have secured bail.
