Bengaluru: Denial of beds for COVID-19 infected and other patients by the private hospitals are resulting in chaos over a few days. After protest in front of CM’s house, Raj Bhavan, now a family held a protest in front of Gandhi statue in Cubbon Park on Friday midnight as none of the hospitals in the city agreed to treat a family member who was suffering from the breathing-related problems.
According to medical education minister Dr. K Sudhakar, the family from Vijayanagar consisting of a senior citizen couple and their daughter visited several hospitals in the city seeking a bed for the family head Vijayendra. However, when the hospitals denied a bed, they sat in front of Gandhi statues in Cubbon park.
“I slept only after the family head was admitted to the hospital,” tweeted Sudhakar.
According to the sources, Sudhakar sent an officer to the spot and ensured that the patients will get a bed at Vikram hospital in the city.
