Bengaluru: Education Minister Kimanne Rathnakar announced the second PU results here today, on May 25.
A total of 3,64,013 out of 6,36,368 students passed the exams.
Girls have outshined boys again. 57.20% students have passed the exams.
Dakshina Kannada gained the first position with 90.48/% while Udupi secured the second position with 90.35%.
Kodagu district gets the third position. Yadgir district is reportedly at the bottom spot.
42.12% students pass in Arts, 62.5% in Science and 64.16% in Commerce respectively.
The pass percentage has dropped by 3% compared to previous year results.
As many as 91 colleges across Karnataka have recorded zero pass percentage.
Anita Basappa, the daughter of a fruit vendor in Ballari is the top scorer in Arts, Rakshita from Bengaluru is the topper in Science and Sahana Kulkarni from Vijayapura has topped in Commerce.
The results are now avialable on www.karresult.nic.in and www.puc.kar.nic.in.
The results will be announced at all concerned PU colleges on May 26.
June 7 will b the last day to apply for second PU revaluation.
Results not withheld
Rathnakar said that the results of the candidates under investigation over paper leak case were not withheld.
“We have not received any communication from the CID about withholding results of those students,” he said.
CET results
The CET results for both medical and engineering colleges would be declared on May 28, said Rathnakar.
The seats in the state-run medical and dental colleges would be filled based on the rankings in CET.
