Bengaluru: The high voltage India-Australia match led to bitter scuffle between two gangs which resulted in a death of a youth in the city late last night on March 27.
The victim is Avinash (24), a resident of JK Garden near JC Nagar.
According to the police, the scuffle between two groups of youth broke out while watching the cricket match in a private resort.
While the match was reaching towards denouement, a pet belonging to a person in the gathering constantly barked which irritated the others.
Irked by this, Avinash and others picked up a verbal fight with the pet’s owner, John Kennedy and scooted him away from the gathering.
Soon, John Kennedy came back to the venue and assaulted Avinash and his gang members with liquor bottles which turned out fatal.
After the incident profusely bleeding Avinash was rushed to the nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police have registered a case in this regard and have taken John Kennedy into custody for further investigation.
