Bengaluru: A school bus driver who was stopped by the Bengaluru police for not wearing uniform here was found to be driving nearly 22 students of Vagdevi Vilas school in Marathahalli under the influence of alcohol.

The police, having booked the driver for his offense, made alternative arrangements to drop the students on Saturday.

This incident is among the many which raises an alarm over the safety of the children travelling in the school buses despite the police having made it mandatory for schools to conduct an alcometer check on bus drivers before they start work.
