
Bengaluru: In a first-of-its-kind incident reported in the State, a woman in the City approached the CEN police alleging that scamsters duped her in the name of buying her kidney. The woman was cheated to the tune of Rs.7.97 lakh.
In her complaint, a woman in her late 30s and a resident of Vyalikaval approached the police alleging that the scamsters duped her in the name of buying her kidney for Rs 1 crore.
The woman alleged that she was approached by a woman who advertised for kidney online. The woman introduced herself as doctor and assured Rs.1 crore for her one kidney.
However, the victim was duped in the name of blood test charges, documentation, TDS, etc.
The police have launched an investigation.
