Bengaluru: Special court for Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday convicted former Chief Manager, State Bank of India, Kumara Park Branch, and two others in a cheating case and sentenced them to five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 2.5 lakh each.
The trio, B.V.V.S.N. Murthy, former Chief Manager, SBI, D. Murugeshan and M. Lalitha (both private persons) during the period from July 1999 to February 2000 conspired to avail loan to the tune of Rs. 106.53 lakh by forging salary and employment certificates.
Based on a complaint, the CBI registered a case and after a detailed probe filed charge sheet against the trio in April 2004. The court has now found the accused guilty and convicted them.
