Bengaluru: The Janadhikara Sangharsha Samiti has filed an online complaint with the United Nations Human Rights Commission, following arrest of Shashidhar Venugopal, the President of Akhila Karnataka Police Mahasabha.

Shashidhar is facing charges of sedition in connection to the June 4 mass leave protest mooted by the state constabulary.

The Samiti, in its complain to the UN Human Rights Commission has included the names of the government, the Chief Minister and the Police Department, speaking about the inhuman conditions under which Shashidhar is being interrogated.

Shashidhar is on hunger stir in the jail. It may be recalled that couple of days ago, Shashidhar had pleaded before the court not to hand him over to police custody. He had also brought to the notice of the court as to how CCB sleuths have been threatening him to make statements as per their wish.

He had also said that with some more days in CCB custody, he would be killed by them.

Despite this, the Court forwarded him to Police custody till June 28.
