Bengaluru: In yet another cash seizure, just ahead of the state elections a sum of Rs 85 lakh unaccounted cash was confiscated from a vehicle near the JAS toll plaza in Nelamangala on the city outskirts on Tuesday morning.

The operation was jointly carried out by the IT, EC and police officials.

Acting on a tip-off the IT and EC officials intercepted the Mahindra Xylo car, ferrying the amount from Bengaluru to Shivamogga after a short chase and arrested its driver.

The police are said to be questioning the driver.
