The state has a total of 75,000 kilometers of road that needs a minimum of Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 crore to cover the pot-holes. It has 40 to 50,000 kilometers of district highways, 20,000 kilometers of state highways and 4,500 kilometers of national highways, said minister Dr Mahadevappa.

The roads are withered owing to torrential rains in the state, while it’s the priority of the state government to cover the pot-holes at the earliest.  It was proposed to begin the works no sooner the rains recede, added minister Dr Mahadevappa.
