Bengaluru: The much awaited makeover of Richmond Circle flyover has begun on Friday. The flyover from Richmond Road to Shanthinagar will be closed till October 10 due to the ongoing makeover work. According to a release from Bengaluru Traffic Police, all the vehicles have to move under the flyover.
The release said the flyover leg from Mission Road and from the flyover to Residency Road will be closed for six days. “The resurfacing work on the other side of the flyover will be taken up by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike,’’ the release said.

According to BBMP sources, this is the first of the series of re-surfacing work that the civic body plans to undertake. The sources said the resurfacing work would be taken up at Domlur and Dairy Circle flyovers in the near future. The BBMP is expected to spend Rs 1.5 crore for re-surfacing of the flyovers.

It may be recalled a Kannada film ‘U-turn’ was made based on the traffic snarls on the flover. The film also successfully completed 100-days of screening recently.
