Bengaluru: The BBMP collected a record Rs.2,009.57 Crore in just two months in the form of property tax. It is the highest ever tax collection in this period.

According to the documents, between April 1 and May 31, the said achievement has been made.

This year 5% rebate on the property tax was continued till May end keeping in mind the Covid – 19 induced financial crisis among many
families. The property owners used this scheme to pay tax early.

According to the documents, a highest property tax collection has been reported from Mahadevapura zone where Rs.549.04 Crore has been collected as the property tax.

Nearly 50% of the property tax was paid online by the property owners.
