Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave a message to all the farmers across the state here on Saturday and said that our government is always looking to helping the farmer community. “We will continue to give more aid to farmers who are in distress”, he said.
While reaching out to the farmers through Akashvani, Siddaramaiah said that our government is always ready to help farmers. “Due to the ongoing assembly session, we could not reach out to farmers. I am also a farmer’s son and I understand the problems of farmers and you should trust me. The opposition is unnecessarily politicising the issue”, he said.
Trying to instill confidence in farmers through a radio talk, the CM said, “I am deeply saddened by the farmer deaths in the state. The state government has directed all the DC’s to act against those money lenders for pressurising farmers with high interest. They are taking such extreme decisions because of the harassment by money lenders”. He then added that in order to help the farmers, the government has declared Rs 2 lakh compensation to the kin of the deceased farmers, he said.
