Raunak Banerjee suicide: Juvenile arrested, released on bail

Bengaluru: A juvenile who was arrested by JP Nagar police on charges of ragging and abetting suicide of his classmate was released on bail on Sunday, July 17.

Raunak Banerjee (14), a Class 9 student at Baldwin school committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor of an apartment on June 29. He left behind a death note stating that his senior ragged him and threatened his life if he does not abide with his dictations.

After scrutiny of the deceased boy’s death note the arrested was found guilty in the preliminary report and was taken into custody.

Released on bail

The 15-year-old boy who was detained by the J. P. Nagar police was released after he was granted bail. The police said that the boy is studying in 10th grade in Baldwin Boys’ High School, where Raunak Banerjee was studying.
