Rajpat all set to be painted with Karnataka’s folklore colours on Republic Day

Bengaluru: The Republic day parade on Rajpath will have slice of Karnataka’s rich folk heritage with tableaux depicting Goravas, Dollu Kunita, Veeragase, Kamsale, Pooja Kunita and Somana Kunita will be showcased in the parade.

Image result for Rajpat Karnataka's folkloreWhile the replica of a Gorava dancer leads the tableau, Somana Kunita has been placed at the tableau’s rear. Veeragaase dancers, wielding swords, Kamsale artistes dancing along and much more awaits the onlookers on January 26.

A group of 25 artistes and supporting staff, led by art director Shashidhar Adapa have prepared the tableaux and, music director V Manohar has scored the background music. Karnataka is taking part in the Republic Day parade for the seventh straight year and has won awards for its tableaux in the past.
