
Bengaluru: Over 130 houses were damaged across Mandya and Ballari districts of the state following a heavy rainstorm, which hit several parts of these two districts on Monday.
A report has been submitted to the state revenue department in this regard. Meanwhile, heavy loss due to the hailstorm, and rain have been reported from Mandya, Davanagere, Dharwad, Ramanagar, and Koppal districts. According to the report, beside houses, a large number of banana, arecanut and coconut plants have been destroyed in the rainstorm.
“In Ballari district, 70 houses are damaged, while in Mandya 60 houses were damaged,” informed authorities. “As many as seven persons were injured in the rain and rainstorm related incidents reported from across the state,” they added.
“In Kadalabalu village of Hagaribommanahalli taluk of Ballari district 53 houses were damaged in the rainstorm. In Bannigol and Tambrahalli villages of the Ballari district standing banana crop in 4 acres of land were destroyed,” stated a report.
In Bombalapura village of the KR Pet taluk of the Mandya district 50 houses were damaged.
Heavy rain with lightning continued across the state on Tuesday as well. “A comprehensive report is expected to get ready by next couple of days on rain related damages,” informed authorities from the revenue department.
