Rains continue to lash in K’taka for second day; Yellow alert in six dists

Bengaluru: For the second day in a row, most part of the state received heavy rainfall. Fortunately, casualty has been reported.

According to the IMD authorities, all the districts of the South and North Karnataka region witnessed rainfall on Monday night. Instances of disruption in the power supply was reported from several parts of the state.

In Bengaluru city, flood water entered several low lying areas increasing the pressure on the BBMP, which is fighting against the Covid 19.

BBMP control room received complaints of tree fall from Vijayanagar, Nagarabhavi, Rajajinagar, and Cotton pet areas.

“A total eight trees uprooted in the rain,” informed BBMP control room staff.

Meanwhile, the state government pinned hope on the possibility of nature playing a key role in slowing the spread of Covid 19.

The rains had started to lash certain pockets of the state of Sunday.

Yellow Alert

Meanwhile, Yellow alert has been issued in six districts of the state- Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikamagaluru, Hasan, Kodagu, Shivamogga as there are possibilities of rains in these regions.
