Bengaluru: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi may continue his visits to temples and mutts in Karnataka, during his three-day visit to the state from January 20.

According to the sources, Rahul Gandhi may visit Sringeri Sharada Peeta. The State Congress has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Sringeri, so, Rahul Gandhi may visit Sringeri Sharadamba temple and take the blessings of the presiding Goddess.

Likewise, he has a plan to visit popular mutts of the state including Aadichunchanagiri, Siddhaganga Mutt of Tumkur, Suttur Mutt of Mysuru, Sidharudha Mutt of Hubli and few temples during his visit. The newly elected AICC president did the same in Gujarat during his election campaign. This is nothing but the symbol of new ‘soft Hindutva’ of Congress, to show Hindus that the party is not against them, say sources.

Responding to this, Power Minister D.K. Shivakumar said that there is a cordial bond between Sringeri temple and Gandhi family. There is nothing special if Rahul Gandhi visits the temple.
