Raghu’s struggle for caste certificate gets him job in Vidhana Soudha

Bengaluru: Raghu, the son of a deaf and dumb rape victim who has been fighting to get a caste certificate has a reason to smile.

Though his caste certificate is still not in his hand, Raghu has a job in hand, which has made him all the more confident.

Raghu, a 22-year-old boy was born to a mentally disturbed, deaf and dumb rape victim hailing from Mandya. All his aspirations and dreams have been dampened because he does not have a caste certificate.

His efforts to get a caste certificate only met failure. When Raghu was about to give up hopes, some Good Samaritans took up the case.

In one such bid to get him a caste certificate, the matter was brought before Athyachara, Laingika Daurjanya Thade Adhyayana Samiti Chairman V S Ugrappa. On hearing the case, Ugrappa apart from promising Raghu that he would strive to get him a caste certificate, offered a post of Group D employee in his own office situated in Vidhana Soudha on January 17.

Elated Raghu says that he wants to work hard and shape a better future for himself. He hopes to pursue his PUC studies in a night college and complete his LLB and then appear for UPSC exams.
