Bengaluru: MLC Manjunath Bhandary had asked certain queries to Minister for Public Works Department C.C. Patil regarding Shiradhi Ghat to which the Minister has responded through a letter on Wednesday March 23.
MLC Bhandary had asked that whether the underpass of Shiradi Ghat that would connect Coastal District and Bengaluru has caught the attention of the Government, to which Minister C. C. Patil has replied that of course under experts have submitted Rs. 10145.62 Crore worth DPR to the Government.
Further, MLC Bhandary had asked with regard to completion of survey report for underpass, and enquired about the size of the grants as well as method of grant release.
To this question Minister Patil said based on the Tripartite Agreement made by the advisors of National Highway Authority of India, PWD and Consultancy Service on April 24, 2018 the DPR prepared by experts has been handed over to NHAI.
Lastly for enquiry by MLC Bhandary on what is the action taken by the Government to enforce underpass in Shiradi Ghat which may reduce travelling time and also help further trading activity, the Minister replied that to review work of the underpass in Shiradi Ghat, Union Ministry for Road Transport has appointed an experts’ committee. Following this the experts’ committee has submitted report that expenditure in merging of National Highway is less than underpass construction so the committe is for merging national highways, he stated.
